On the second edition, reissued in , an image of guitarist Shinichi Ishikawa is featured. Both are long since out of print due to poor distribution, as they were published on Deathlike Silence following the death of its founder Euronymous. In the album was reissued by Psychic Scream Entertainment, including a bonus track, "The Seven Gates of Hell," which is a Venom cover, and completely new artwork.

A vinyl version was also released by Vinyl Collectors limited to copies including a cover of Mayhem's "Carnage.

Reissued again in by Enucleation once again with new artwork , this version includes the Requiem for Fools EP , which allowed them to sign to DSP, and their split 7" EP with Kawir , neither of which have ever been available on CD before. The pace shift to fast a couple of times too, but there are no blast beats on the album. The musicianship is a bit questionable.

The strongly accented raspy vocals are pretty strong and powerful IMO and they are without a doubt one of the main attractions on Scorn Defeat. The sound is below standard, but pretty average for an early black metal production. A small 2 star rating is deseved for Scorn Defeat. Fans of the above mentioned bands might be able to get something out of this album but then again they might not I for one am a fan of most of the above mentioned bands and not very impressed by Scorn Defeat.

The album became a cult classic. In fact the title of the album is taken from a line off of Venom's 'Welcome To Hell. The inchoate ideas that SIGH present here are interesting for their historical significance in the development of black metal scene however what's really missing here are some outstanding songs.

This debut album is definitely worth a listen but it's obvious that despite the wealth of ideas they had yet to assembly them into interesting concoctions. One illustration of this is Scorn Defeat, the debut album by Sigh. Side Defeat. Black Metal Venom Cover Unreleased. Deathlike Silence Productions. Sell This Version. The Crypt. Hammerheart Records. Sexy Trippy All Moods.

Drinking Hanging Out In Love. Introspection Late Night Partying. Rainy Day Relaxation Road Trip. Season of Mist Record label. Osmose Productions Record label. Century Media Records. Candlelight Records. Relapse Records. Now we are more mature musicians with much more knowledge about music and better playing ability, but or maybe I should say "therefore" if we re-recorded it now, the album wouldn't sound any better, as all the magic would be lost.

What delights me the most is that the album we recorded almost 30 years ago is still loved and being newly re-released like this, which we never expected back then.
