The core of the album is continuous except for the break between Paranoia parts 1 and 2 and has a conceptual feel to it, but unlike later releases seems more focussed on inner rather than outer space.
The album introduced Dik Mik on electronics and excepting Hurry On Sundown his presence is felt everywhere on this album to great effect. If you like early Hawkwind this album has a similar approach but is quite unlike any of their following albums. If you like psychedelia you need this album.
A gem of 60s experimentation. The sleeve shows minimal shelfwear and a very minor scuffing to the right hand side, the vinyl remains in excellent condition with few signs of play SHARP This has been stored away for many years, we don't even think this ended up at the event, but what we do know is this example remains in an outstanding condition. The sleeve shows some shelfwear with edge scuffing and the vinyl remains near 'as new' with few signs of play GWLP The sleeve shows only faint creasing at the edges and apart from a little evidence of play to Side Three, the vinyl appears in near 'as new' condition LLPB.
The gatefold picture sleeve comes complete with fold-out Japanese insert and wide purple 'European Rock' obi-strip and shows very little evidence of shelfwear, whilst the vinyl remains. The cover has some light storage wear, but the inner pages are in excellent cond ition. The sleeve shows some edgeware to the corners and the vinyl remains in excellent condition with few signs of play BG2. Overall a very good example of this classic Hawkwind album UAG The sleeve shows just a little light shelfwear mainly to the edges and the vinyl appears barely played FA The cover of this copy has some minor storage wear whilst the inner pages are excellent.
Also has the 'Heavy Metal' merchandising insert still attached and comes with a ticket stub for one of the shows on the tour. Please note that the ticket shown in our image might b. The cover has only a few light signs ofage with some storage wear, and includes ticket stub for the 13th November show at the Hammersmith Odeon in London.
The sleeve shows just a little light shelfwear with a bit of edge scuffing and the vinyl remains in ex cellent condition with few signs of play SHARP This single, although reaching the UK top twenty as a follow up to SilverM achine, was hastily withdrawn in the wake of some unfortunate terrorist activity at the time. It does the concept very well and pays tribute to one of the earliest and greatest Science Fiction writers of the 21st Century. Hawkwind The Xenon Codex Another underrated gem of an album.
The Xenon Codex was a great follow up to Black Sword, despite it being stylistically different from its predecessor. When I listen to this album, I am reminded that this was what I was hoping Church of Hawkwind would be. It was a great album, featuring the usual 70's Hawkwind doing their usual shtick with no real need to change all that much. In a sense, that is what makes it good. This wasn't Hawkwind experimenting, but refining.
Hawkwind Doremi Fasol Latido Hawkwind's third album lacked the rough passion of their debut and the creativity of their sophomore effort, but Doremi Fasol Latido was still an excellent album from band that was encountering a high they wouldn't experience after Levitation.
Hawkwind Hawkwind A great debut from a band that was just beginning to get their feet wet. Despite its Folk-Rock theme, their debut was a great record at a time when The Grateful Dead were making waves on the genre. It also features one of my all time personal favorite Hawkwind tracks in "Hurry On Sundown". It had a lot of energy and had my favorite version of "Death Trap".
In Search of Space was an absolute masterpiece in creativity and general production. When people talk about some of the best Hawkwind albums, you'll be hard pressed to find someone who doesn't name this as one of them. Hawkwind Levitation Getting Ginger Baker on drums must have been some seriously dumbass luck. Regardless, Baker's drumming completely defined this record, creating a whole new way of listening to Hawkwind.
It was organic, layered, and a great start for Hawkwind as they journeyed into the 's. Hawkwind Blood of the Earth When Hawkwind disappeared for 4 years, many people felt the band was over, only for the band to come rise out of the sea and release Blood of the Earth.
Possibly one of the best Hawkwind albums in a long time, Blood of the Earth was as if a blunt object hit Dave Brock in the head and he suddenly had the mind set he had when making Hall of the Mountain Grill.
