Over The Hills And Far Away - The Mission - The First Chapter (CD, Album)

In its whole, I think this song is about the importance of finding love and happiness and not being a afraid of going on a journey to find those things. Don't get caught up in trivial things because nobody is perfect and at the end of the day, love and happiness are the things that matter. Actually i kno from experience, "Love" is symbolic for being possessed by a demon in the rock n roll world..

Most rock bands sing about this phenomena and the strange visions of hell you travel to as they escape by using your body.. But i promise you, these guys ONLY sing about it. Id persume this song is about the other dimensional traveling these Fallen Angels take you too.. I personally adore her feet that look like 2 dog paws, and she has a face that no human woman will ever have it is beautiful. At only about 4 feet tall, she is what we would call a "Grey Alien" today, and could easily over power the strongest man.

So, on the one hand it feels a bit like cashing in, but on the other The First Chapter is a pretty good collection, more consistent than God's Own Medicine , and containing some of the Mission 's better moments. The first two singles, "Serpents Kiss" and "Garden of Delight" are the standouts, obviously, but their covers of "Like a Hurricane" Neil Young , "Wishing Well" Free , and "Dancing Barefoot" Patti Smith are surprisingly solid, proving that the band was interested in taking the rather limited scope of goth rock to more interesting places than just drum machines and moody crooning.

An arguably better introduction to the Mission than God's Own Medicine and not just because this is their initial output , The First Chapter is a sure fan favorite, as well as an interesting piece of history of an oft-forgotten era of English rock.

I was thinking this must be where they got the title for the song, Over the hills and far away! Roger from Western Auatralia It is great to see that I'm not the only one too who thought this was a great song. I use quotes of the lyrics all the and on my kids.
